THOUSANDS CELEBRATE OPENING OF
THE ROSE KENNEDY GREENWAY

Boston Museum Teams with
Duck Tours and Genzyme on Inaugural Events

Thousands of people streamed into downtown Boston on Saturday, October 4, 2008, for a first glimpse of Boston 's new necklace of green parks, the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway. The 27-acre strip of recreational space connecting Boston Harbor and downtown districts was filled with families enjoying free Ferris wheel rides, Duck Tours, music and dance performances, and craft activities.

The Boston Museum and its partner organization, the Boston History & Innovation Collaborative, teamed with Genzyme and the Boston Duck Tours to present three events focused on "Boston's Big Ideas," the city's spectacular history of innovation and creativity. Genzyme employees took part in a "Genzyme Family Day" program at the inaugural featuring the children's play, "What's the Big Idea?" a special-edition Duck Tour focused on innovation history, and a contest to create ideas for improving Boston's future.
